UPPCC Announces Newest Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) & Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) Designees

Herndon, VA - July 18, 2018 - The Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC) is pleased to announce that 106 individuals successfully completed the spring 2018 UPPCC certification examinations administered May 7-19, 2018. The coveted Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) and Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) credentials, recognized throughout the public procurement profession, demonstrate an individual's comprehensive knowledge of public procurement.

Of these 106 newly certified individuals, a total of 77 earned the CPPB certification while 29 earned the CPPO certification. This newest class of professionals brings the total number of certified CPPBs and CPPOs to 10,422 and 2,776 respectively.

Obtaining either UPPCC certification requires the candidate to demonstrate through an application process, that they meet specific requisites; including formal education, procurement related coursework/training and public procurement employment experience. A comprehensive written examination (specific to each certification) is required to confirm the candidate's mastery of a variety of public procurement concepts found in the UPPCC Body of Knowledge. UPPCC is currently accepting online application submissions through its new certification management system for the October 15-27, 2018 testing window through the July 30, 2018 application deadline (late deadline August 13).
