UPPCC Recertification Requirements: Qualifying Continuing Education Topics Expanded

Herndon, VA - February 21, 2017 - At their January 25th meeting, the UPPCC Governing Board voted in favor of implementing a change to its current requirements for CPPO/CPPB Recertification. The change broadens the range of topics that the UPPCC considers to be procurement-related to include professional development topics (i.e. leadership, project management, communication, etc.). The modification allows for credit to be earned for continuing education in topic areas that "enhance performance in a current or future procurement role."

The new requirements are effective immediately and the new Application for Recertification form (2017-Feb version) is currently available and replaces the previous version on the website.

The Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC) is an independent entity formed to govern and administer the Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) and Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) certification programs. The CPPO and CPPB programs are highly regarded and respected among procurement professionals and employers involved in the public sector. To date, the UPPCC has certified well over 10,000 professionals primarily within the US and Canada as well as in other nations around the globe.
