UPPCC Appoints Miluski as Chairman of the Board of Examiners

September 7, 2006 - Today the Universal Public Purchasing Certification Council (UPPCC) announced the appointment of James Miluski, CPPO as Chairman of the Board of Examiners. Miluski, serving his second consecutive term as member of the BOE representing the National Association of State Purchasing Officials (NASPO) stepped up to fill the chairmanship left vacant by William E. Hertwig, CPPO, CPPB, C.P.M., A.P.P., who resigned in June 2006 after serving nearly five consecutive years at the helm. Miluski will fulfill the remainder of Hertwig's 2005 - 2007 term.

Miluski earned his CPPO certification in March of 1994 and is director of the Division of Purchasing and Materials Management with the State of Missouri. "I look forward to this opportunity to serve the UPPCC during this exciting time. As chairman of the BOE, I feel very fortunate to have such a great group of qualified and dedicated individuals serving on the BOE. We are committed to ensuring the success of the programs" said Miluski of his recent appointment.

The ten member Board of Examiners is charged with collectively providing expertise for the consistent development of the UPPCC examinations and providing expertise in the evaluation of and decisions on matters relating to certification, recertification and revocation.

The Universal Public Purchasing Certification Council (UPPCC) is an independent entity formed to govern and administer the Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) and Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) certification programs.

The CPPO and CPPB programs are highly regarded and respected among procurement professionals and employers involved in the public sector. To date, the UPPCC has certified over 10,000 professionals primarily within the US and Canada, but in other nations around the globe.
