Current Certificants
Lifetime Status
CPPO or CPPB certificants in good standing who have retired after fifteen (15) or more years of public purchasing experience may apply for Lifetime Certification upon retirement or at age sixty-two (62).
The UPPCC considers retirement for Lifetime Status as being retired from the procurement profession after fifteen years of full time employment whereby the individual had the responsibilities to perform essential functions within the purchasing cycle.
Programs such as the DROP program offered by many jurisdictions whereby the employee continues to work in the procurement profession within the same organization do not qualify for the UPPCC Lifetime Certification Status.
Individuals who allow their certification(s) to lapse or expire are not eligible for Lifetime Certification. Once Lifetime Certification is earned, subsequent recertifications are no longer required. The certificant will receive a new certificate with "lifetime" printed in the expiration date area.
Lifetime Certification applicants are not required to earn or document recertification points in order to file an application. The certificant submits the Recertification Application and on the form selects Lifetime Certification. The applicant is required to submit documentation that supports one (1) of the following Lifetime Recertification requirements:
-
Official retirement after fifteen or more years of public purchasing experience.
- OR -
-
Sixty-two (62) years of age or older.
Official retirement may be documented by submitting official retirement paperwork from the government agency which states years of service and official retirement date. Programs such as the DROP program offered by many jurisdictions whereby the employee continues to work in the procurement profession within the same organization do not qualify for the UPPCC Lifetime Certification Status.
Age must be documented via a copy of government issued identification (i.e. valid driver's license, passport, birth certificate, etc.).
