UPPCC Announces Newest Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) & Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) Designees
Herndon, VA - June 21, 2017 - The Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC) is pleased to announce that 112 individuals successfully completed the spring 2017 UPPCC certification examinations administered May 1-13, 2017. The coveted Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) and the Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) credentials, recognized throughout the public procurement profession, demonstrate an individuals' comprehensive knowledge of public procurement.
Of these 112 newly certified individuals, a total of 82 earned the CPPB certification while 30 earned the CPPO certification. This newest class of professionals brings the total number certified for CPPB and CPPO to 10,283 and 2,714 respectively.
Obtaining either UPPCC certification requires the candidate to demonstrate through an application process, that they meet specific requisites; including formal education, procurement related coursework/training and public procurement employment experience. A comprehensive written examination (specific to each certification) is required to confirm the candidate's mastery of a variety of public procurement concepts found in the UPPCC Body of Knowledge. UPPCC will be accepting applications for the October 16-28, 2017 testing window through the July 17, 2017 application deadline (late deadline July 31).
