UPPCC Announces Newest Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) & Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) Designees
January 28, 2015 - The Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC) is pleased to announce that 134 individuals successfully completed the fall 2014 UPPCC certification examinations administered October 20 - November 1, 2014. The Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) and Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) credentials, recognized throughout the public procurement profession, convey an individual's comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the field of public procurement.
Of these 134 newly certified individuals, a total of 81 earned the CPPB certification while 53 earned the CPPO certification. This newest class of professionals brings the total number certified for CPPB and CPPO to 9,859 and 2,585 respectively.
Obtaining either UPPCC certification requires a candidate to demonstrate through an application process, that they meet specific requisites; including formal education, procurement related coursework/training and public procurement employment experience. A comprehensive written examination (specific to each certification) is required to confirm a candidate's mastery of a variety of public procurement concepts found in the UPPCC Body of Knowledge.
The next examinations are scheduled for May 4-16, 2015. UPPCC is currently accepting applications for the May exams and will continue to do so through the on-time deadline of February 2 and the late deadline of February 17.
